Nonetheless there are others in my life that aren&#8217;t yet as ruthless about how they decide to spend their time or treat their tailbone. \u00a0If I&#8217;m honest, I&#8217;m afraid of horses and suspect that horses can smell my\u00a0fear. \u00a0Horses are unpredictable &#8211; what if something spooks the horse and it goes berserk? \u00a0What do I do to stop myself from crashing and breaking my neck. \u00a0These are questions that get\u00a0the heart pounding as I wait to rustle some cattle and Alexa chuckles thinking\u00a0I look more like\u00a0Mike Myers in an old Saturday Night Live sketch than a working\u00a0gaucho.<\/p>\n<p>Gaucho Mario gives me advice:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Whatever you do don&#8217;t panic, you&#8217;ll just make things worse<\/li>\n<li>You know your limitations better than anyone &#8211; don&#8217;t step outside them<\/li>\n<li>Remember\u00a0what you&#8217;ve been taught<\/li>\n<li>Yell for\u00a0help<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And I guess I&#8217;m as prepared as I can be.<\/p>\n<p>It strikes me that when it comes to investing Mario&#8217;s advice is much wiser than that of the market pundits currently writing articles about impending market sell-offs. \u00a0Is the market going to crash? \u00a0Are stock market valuations too high? \u00a0Are interest rates or inflation going to spike? \u00a0Is the housing bubble going to burst? \u00a0Don&#8217;t listen to those who claim they can predict the future. \u00a0Markets are unpredictable.
